Hortance Kufuku, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, has a background in business sciences and has been active in organizing waste pickers through the Association des Collecteurs de Déchets du Congo-Kinshasa (ARCK), which has been operating since 2008.
As President of ARCK and a member of the IAWP Executive Council, she focuses on training, women’s empowerment, and strengthening the visibility of informal waste workers. Her work also includes promoting knowledge exchange across regions and mobilizing resources to support the organization and rights of waste pickers.
