Guillermo Schoning is a Mexican social organizer with a BA in International Relations from El Colegio de México. He spent three years providing technical support to the National Movement of Waste Pickers of Mexico (MNR) and played a key role in its founding in 2024. During that time, the movement helped shape the General Law on Circular Economy, the first national law in the country to explicitly recognize waste pickers. He has also pushed for a just transition in Mexico through the Pacto Socioambiental network and is cofounder of Otros Futuros, a Latin American collective that works with imagination-based methodologies for climate and environmental organizing.
