KUAP works only in Kenya. It works in the Peri-urban of Kisumu and parts of rural Kisumu & Kitale (informal settlements). It trains & educates the community on Waste management. They first undergo a participatory community hygiene transformation after which the action plan decides on what to do with the various groups. It’s all about hygiene promotion. Specific programme locations include Magadi Gonda (Peri-urban Kisumu/outcast of the town or the slum area), Pandipieri, Bala, Nyalenda Kanyakwal & Manyatta flamingo.
